美光及其他存储芯片制造商还受到Alphabet周三推出的TurboQuant人工智能压缩算法的影响。例如，闪迪在3月19日周四收于创纪录高位后，目前正连续第五个交易日下跌，期间累计跌幅达20%。
BTIG分析师周四指出，自1999年以来，美光在触及52周新高后从未出现过六日内下跌20%的情况。这家投行表示：“当利好消息被抛售时，需予以关注。”1999年，美光在此后继续下跌了19%。根据BTIG的数据，1997年美光在创出新高后也曾类似地下跌20%，随后股价进一步暴跌52%。
