Australian shares are poised to fall on Monday as rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, marked by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis launching attacks on Israel, push oil prices higher and heighten investor caution.

On March 27, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average each fell 1.7%, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 2.2%.

In the macroeconomy, investors are eyeing the Reserve Bank of Australia's meeting minutes on Tuesday.

In corporate news, DroneShield (ASX:DRO) opened its new European headquarters in Amsterdam, expanding its presence across European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization markets while enhancing its counter-drone capabilities, according to a Monday statement.

Webjet (ASX:WJL) said that Chief Executive Katrina Barry has resigned.

Australia's benchmark index fell 0.1% or 9.4 points to close at 8,516.30 on March 27.
