CGI (GIB) said Thursday it signed a multi-year strategic agreement with Amazon (AMZN) Web Services to accelerate artificial intelligence implementation and cloud modernization in US government agencies.

The plan will deploy advanced technologies to improve citizen services and strengthen zero-trust cybersecurity architectures to protect sensitive public data, the company said.

The collaboration also targets the modernization of legacy administrative systems and the extraction of analytical value from fragmented government databases, CGI said.

The arrangement includes dedicated financial investments to expand training and certification programs for personnel working on these digital deployments, it said.
