Azenta Weighs Options After Thelema Fails to Secure Acquisition Financing in Time

Azenta is evaluating paths forward for its medical refrigeration business after Thelema said it had not yet secured the financing needed to complete its proposed $63 million acquisition.

Thelema on March 27 informed Azenta that the financing was not in place, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The transaction for B Medical Systems did not close as expected on Tuesday, the company said, with Thelema saying it needed additional time to line up its financing.

"The parties have not amended or terminated the agreement; however, the company is evaluating potential paths forward with respect to the transaction while Thelema continues to complete its financing arrangements," Azenta said.

B Medical Systems is a Luxembourg-based business that manufactures and distributes medical refrigeration devices.
