4月5日，雷军发文称新一代小米SU7 Max版顺利通过了三元锂电池的高温满电针刺挑战，相比电池新国标，本次的挑战工况温度更高、电量更高，且采用行业共识更为严苛的针刺进行热失控触发，所以难度更高；
首先，新国标热失控试验要求电池温度22±5℃、电池SOC≥95%，新一代小米SU7此次试验将电池加热至55℃、将电池电量充满。电池温度越高、电量越高，热失控反应越剧烈；
此外还有针刺，新国标推荐电池热失控触发方式通常分为两种：加热（外部加热/内部加热）和针刺。针刺会直接破坏电芯隔膜、极片等结构，电芯瞬间短路，能量快速释放，释放区域更加集中，局部温度急剧上升，所以针刺是行业共识更为严苛的热失控触发方式；
新一代小米SU7通过针刺触发单电芯热失控后，未热蔓延至其他电芯、电池包不起火、不爆炸，车内外报警正常激活，云端报警正常激活，车门正常解锁，车内无可见烟气，试验挑战成功。
