美国总统特朗普表示，一些曾批评他选择赫格塞思担任国防部长的参议员，现在正祝贺他做出了正确的选择。

　　特朗普称，赫格塞思的提名确认过程异常艰难，在此期间他受到了“非常不公平的”对待。

　　特朗普说：“我跟你们说，之前那些不支持他的人，那些参议员，我的朋友们，曾对我说‘先生，我认为您这么做不对’——现在他们打电话给我，说‘这人选得真好’。”

　　在周一的一场记者会上，特朗普还对美国中央情报局（CIA）大加赞扬，他表示：“我认为他们出色的工作没有得到足够的肯定。”
