Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google said Tuesday that its Gemini AI chatbot has been updated with new features to support users who may have mental health issues.

Conversations that signal a possibility that the user may need information about mental health will have Gemini show a "Help is available" module that provides connections to care. If there is a potential crisis related to suicide or self-harm, a one-touch interface will appear and allow the user to chat, call, text, or visit a crisis hotline website, according to a company blog post.

The company's philanthropic arm, Google.org, is also allotting $30 million globally over the next three years to support global crisis hotlines, the company said.
