Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) said its ongoing multi-rig drilling program at its Paris gold project in Western Australia delivered significant new high-grade gold intercepts, confirming the down-plunge continuity of the Paris Lower 2 zone, intersecting the multi-lode gold system up to 500 meters down plunge, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

It hit intercepts of five meters at 15.24 grams-per-tonne grade of gold from 314 meters down-hole, as well as 12.59 meters at 12.47 g/t grade of gold from 169.7 meters down-hole.

Further diamond drilling is planned to continue to define the new shoot boundaries, while an interim mineral resource estimate update for the project is on track for the June quarter.

Its shares rose 12% in recent trading on Wednesday.
