1321 ET - The price of shipping goods is about to get more expensive. Cascades, which makes essential materials for shipping goods as well as tissue hygiene products, is passing on its rising costs to customers. The company says it has begun rolling out price increases across its containerboard and uncoated recycled board businesses, with additional hikes announced in some tissue categories. Management is also weighing more pricing strategies to blunt the impact of volatile transportation and fuel surcharges, weather-related disruptions and softer demand tied to geopolitical uncertainty which led to a downgrade of expectations for 1Q.
