利比亚国有国家石油公司与埃尼公司在利比亚以西的海上D区获得了一个新的天然气发现。

　　这一发现是在对位于Contract Area 4/16的1-16/4勘探井成功钻探之后取得的。该井由埃尼北非公司运营，距离海岸约95公里。

　　钻井最终深度达到10458英尺。在Metloui储层进行的测试显示，两次测试的天然气流量分别为每日1400万立方英尺和每日2400万立方英尺。

　　利比亚国家石油公司表示，该井是根据2008年6月签署的协议，在开发海上D区相关合同承诺下的最后一口勘探井。

　　这一发现增加了利比亚的海上天然气潜力，有助于该国提高产量和能源供应。
