Anthropic's Mythos Model Could Shift Software Focus to Collaboration with AI -- Market Talk

1234 GMT - Anthropic's new Mythos model could change the narrative surrounding artificial-intelligence competition to software companies, Janus Henderson portfolio manager Ana Chkhikvadze says. European software stocks are down by more than 24% so far this year following a sharp selloff prompted by fears over competition from AI agents. While the debate will continue, Mythos--an AI-powered cybersecurity model--might shift investor attention away from competition fears, the portfolio manager says. Instead, investor focus will turn toward potential partnerships between AI providers and software companies "centered around protection and governance," Chkhikvadze says. A gauge of European software stocks slides 2.5% in afternoon trade.(josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
