ICICI Prudential Life Insurance's (NSE:ICICIPRULI, BOM:540133) consolidated profit jumped to 6.24 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter from 3.85 billion rupees a year ago, according to a Tuesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
Shares of the company were up nearly 3% in Wednesday's trade.
The insurer's earnings per share for the quarter ended March 31 climbed to 4.28 rupees from 2.65 rupees a year earlier.
Net premium income in fiscal Q4 increased to 191.8 billion rupees from 163.7 billion rupees a year earlier.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of 1.65 rupees per share for the financial year ended March 31.
