智通财经APP获悉，周四，英特尔(INTC.US)涨逾4%，报67.71美元。消息面上，英特尔首席执行官Lip-Bu Tan上周向员工发出内部备忘录，承诺将在数周内披露公司参与Terafab项目的范围与性质，标志着这一以重塑芯片制造格局为目标的宏大计划正加速走向公开落地。据悉，Terafab的近期目标是在德克萨斯州奥斯汀建立试验产线，计划2029年启动硅片制造，初期月产能定为3000片晶圆。
据媒体此前报道，Terafab团队已向Applied Materials、东京电子及泛林集团等设备巨头发出询价，要求以光速响应。项目最终愿景是实现年供1太瓦算力，直指台积电在先进制程领域的主导地位。Bernstein分析师估算，项目全面落地所需资本支出规模高达5万亿至13万亿美元。
