Charles Schwab to Introduce Spot Cryptocurrency Trading for Retail Clients

Charles Schwab (SCHW) said Thursday it will launch a spot cryptocurrency trading service for retail customers in the coming weeks.

The platform will initially provide direct trading of bitcoin and ethereum alongside traditional investments for a fee of 75 basis points per transaction, the company said.

Clients will hold a separate digital asset account through Charles Schwab Premier Bank, while Paxos will manage trade execution and sub-custody services, it added.
