据其领英页面上的一份声明显示，有“新兴市场教父”之称的知名投资者、被广泛认为是新兴市场投资先驱的麦朴思（Mark Mobius）周三在新加坡去世，享年 89 岁。

　　麦朴思投资新兴市场数十年，就在今年1月还在大力宣传新的投资机会。他的信念影响了一代基金经理，并帮助大量资金流入了这个曾经被视为边缘市场的领域。

　　作为邓普顿新兴市场集团的执行主席，麦朴思在该集团工作了30多年。1987年，在推动美国投资者走向海外的先驱约翰·邓普顿聘请下，麦朴思创立了最早专注于快速发展的新兴市场的共同基金之一。他一直管理邓普顿新兴市场集团直至2016年，并担任邓普顿新兴市场投资信托的首席基金经理直至2015年。2018年1月麦朴思宣布退休。

　　数据显示，该封闭式基金自1989年至麦朴思退休期间的年均回报率达13.4%。自2001年MSCI新兴市场指数推出以来，该基金年均跑赢该基准指数1.9个百分点。

　　麦朴思投资公司在一份声明中表示，在麦朴思去世后，该公司两位合伙人John Ninia和Eric Nguyen将承担领导职责。
