Labcorp (LH) said Wednesday it has launched a diagnostic test to identify suspected fentanyl exposure that delivers results in 10 minutes.
The point-of-care urine assessment detects the drug's primary metabolite, norfentanyl, which remains identifiable for up to 48 hours after initial contact, the company said.
The screening tool has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for preliminary use in certified clinical settings and requires subsequent laboratory confirmation, Labcorp said.
