英国首相斯塔默在周四与Meta、Snap、谷歌和X等公司的高管会面之前，呼吁社交媒体公司在儿童网络安全问题上“站出来承担责任”。

　　斯塔默政府加强了对社交媒体公司的审查，称儿童在没有明确责任的情况下在网上受到伤害，并承诺采取行动限制此类应用程序对睡眠、家庭生活和学校功课的影响。

　　“社交媒体塑造了儿童看待自己、友谊和周围世界的方式。当这伴随着真正的风险时，我们不能选择视而不见，”斯塔默在会议前说。

　　“我将采取一切必要措施来保护儿童的网络安全。他补充说：”今天就是要确保社交媒体公司站出来承担责任。

　　英国政府承认一些社交媒体公司已经采取了一些保护措施——比如禁止儿童在YouTube上自动播放，让父母对屏幕时间有更大的控制权，包括宵禁——但斯塔默希望更进一步。

　　英国正在就是否限制儿童访问社交媒体（包括可能禁止16岁以下儿童访问）以及宵禁、应用时间限制和遏制其所描述的令人上瘾的设计功能等问题咨询，直至下个月。

　　澳大利亚去年成为第一个禁止16岁以下儿童使用社交媒体的国家，欧洲国家也在考虑采取类似措施。
