Chinese Auto Industry Veteran Gets 13-Year Jail Term for Bribery

A court in Henan, China, sentenced former China South Industries Group Corp. deputy general manager Liu Weidong to 13 years in prison for bribery, Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday.
The court also fined Liu 4 million yuan, the report said.
Liu, an auto industry veteran, took more than 41.4 million yuan in bribes from 1999 to 2025 while being deputy general manager at Dongfeng Motor (HKG:0489) and China Changan Automobile, according to the report.
