(Updates with RDW's statement and additional context)
Dutch vehicle regulator RDW has informed the European Commission of its intention to seek approval for Tesla's (TSLA) Full-Self Driving system across the European Union, RDW told MT Newswires in an e-mailed statement Tuesday.
The move was first reported by Reuters.
RDW said Friday it approved Tesla's advanced driver assistance technology called Full Self Driving Supervised with provisional validity in the Netherlands.
The next step in the regulatory process is a vote by all member states on the application for approval of the Full Self Driving system across the bloc. Approval would require a majority of votes within the responsible committee, the regulator said in its statement on Friday.
Tesla didn't respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
