Roblox (RBLX) said Monday it plans to launch two new age-based accounts for users under 16 by early June and expand parental controls.
The new "Roblox Kids" accounts for ages 5 to 8 and "Roblox Select" accounts for ages 9 to 15 will align content access, communication settings and parental controls based on a user's age, the company said.
Kids accounts will limit access to lower-maturity content and disable communication by default, while Select accounts will allow broader content access with existing communication settings, Roblox said.
The company also said it is expanding parental controls, including the ability to block or approve specific games and manage chat settings through age 15.
