欧洲央行管委会成员Olli Rehn表示，“加息并非必然。”
Rehn表示：“我们的立场需要是保持冷静，并仔细评估能源冲击在中期内的影响。”
“很大程度上取决于这场严重的能源冲击会持续多久。如果只持续几个月，那么教科书式的答案就是顺其自然，维持货币政策不变。”
“但如果这推高了通胀预期，并对物价和工资造成第二轮冲击，那么货币政策显然需要做出反应，以将预期控制在欧洲央行2%的目标范围内。”
这位芬兰央行行长表示，很多事情取决于这场危机最终如何解决或如何发展，欧洲央行将有时间在春季评估危机的影响。
欧洲央行必须着眼于整体经济，而不仅仅是单一指标。
