S&P 500 on Pace for Third Record Close in a Row -- WSJ

The S&P 500 topped the 7100 mark for the first time on Friday, putting the index on track for its third record high in three days.

The index was up around 1.3% as investors cheered reports of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The development was another positive signal for investors, who have taken S&P 500 on a weeklong rally as they bet on a resolution of the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran.

Still, the news prompted uncertainty for shippers in the region, who were waiting on additional clarity.
