日本央行行长植田和男表示，中东冲突带来通胀上行和经济下行的双重风险，货币政策委员会将在月末议息会议上决定应采取何种最合适的政策以实现2%的通胀目标。

　　植田和男周四在华盛顿对记者表示，“总体而言，在考虑战争相关冲击可能持续的时间以及其他经济状况后，我们将选择最合适的应对方式，以持续实现2%的通胀目标。”

　　由于这可能是日本央行4月28日利率决策之前，植田和男最后一次释放政策信号的机会，因此他在华盛顿的表态受到密切关注。在此前两次加息前，植田和男都曾发出明确暗示，以确保市场为利率决策结果做好准备。

　　在中东冲突升级之前，日本央行观察人士大多预计，央行将在4月份加息。但近几周来，这一预期有所降温。植田和男周一发表讲话时强调不确定性，进一步强化了这一趋势。

　　货币市场定价显示日本央行本月将基准利率上调至1%的概率约为19%，低于本周初的约55%，而6月份加息的概率升至76%。
