其中，美国2024年天然气产量达到377510亿立方英尺，占全球总产量的25%，遥遥领先于其他任何国家。
自2005年以来，美国天然气产量几乎扩大至原来的三倍，这得益于水力压裂技术开发了此前不具备经济开采价值的页岩层。
俄罗斯以226720亿立方英尺的年产量紧随其后，伊朗(98530亿立方英尺)和中国(91110亿立方英尺)分别位列第三和第四。
加拿大和卡塔尔位居第二梯队，其次是一些液化天然气出口国和区域供应商。
这些国家共同构成了全球天然气供应体系的核心，覆盖北美、欧亚大陆、中东以及主要的液化天然气出口中心。
