伊朗石油、天然气和石化产品出口商联盟发言人 Hamid Hosseini 表示，每艘油轮必须通过电子邮件向伊朗当局报告其货物信息，随后伊朗将告知需支付的通行费金额，且必须以加密货币支付。“一旦邮件到达且伊朗完成评估，船只将获得几秒钟的时间以比特币支付，确保无法因制裁而被追踪或没收。”
