4月21日晚间消息，宁德时代今晚举办2026年“超级科技日”发布会，主题为“极域之约”，宁德时代称，这是成立以来技术密度最高的一场发布会。中国工程院院士、宁德时代首席科学家吴凯在会上表示，宁德时代坚持多化学体系发展，复杂世界需要多种答案，坚持多化学体系不是可选项，而是必选项。因为每一种材料都有其自身的局限性，没有任何一种材料能达到完美。
吴凯表示，宁德时代根据不同场景的不同需求，在多元体系上都建立了能力，这是真正的对用户的需要不是一个统一答案，而是一个更适合自己的答案。新能源不能只服务少数创新，必须进入更多地区、更多行业、更多应用，也关系到产业安全、资源安全和技术主导权。
