特斯拉首席执行官埃隆·马斯克表示，公司计划斥资约30亿美元在德克萨斯州建设一座研究型芯片工厂。

　　马斯克周三在公司季度业绩电话会上表示，这座研究型工厂将建在现有的德州超级工厂园区内。该工厂每月只能生产几千片晶圆，将作为测试新技术和新工艺的平台。

　　马斯克表示，将由SpaceX牵头推进更大规模、名为Terafab的芯片项目的早期阶段。英特尔已签约支持该项目，作为合作伙伴，英特尔将提供芯片设计、制造和封装方面的专长。

　　马斯克说：“到目前为止，我们理清的是，特斯拉负责研究型芯片工厂，SpaceX负责Terafab的初始阶段。至于其余部分，我们还要继续研究。”

　　Terafab是马斯克进军先进芯片制造的宏大计划，特斯拉、SpaceX以及其人工智能公司xAI的团队都在参与这一项目。

　　马斯克表示，Terafab的目标是为其旗下企业锁定足够的芯片供应，而台积电和三星电子等代工制造商将无法满足这一需求。

　　在电话会上，有人要求马斯克进一步说明英特尔参与的细节。他回应称，计划采用英特尔最先进的生产工艺14A。这一工艺目前尚未拿到客户订单。上述表态推动英特尔股价在周三盘后上涨约3%。
