Travel + Leisure shares slid after its first-quarter travel-and-membership revenue sharply decreased.
Shares of the travel company fell 14% on Wednesday to $65.81, on pace for its largest percent decrease since 2020. Its shares are down 6.4% year to date.
The company said its travel-and-membership revenue dropped 8% in the first quarter to $165 million, driven by a 10% decrease in revenue per transaction and flat transaction volume. The company also expects a continued decline in travel-and-membership revenue in 2026, it said on a call with analysts.
Overall first-quarter revenue came to $961 million, compared with $934 million a year earlier.
Net income for the quarter was $79 million, or $1.22 a share, compared with $73 million, or $1.07 a share, a year earlier.
