CGI is strengthening its relationship with OpenAI, specifically around its Codex platform for building and managing artificial intelligence agents.
The Canadian IT and business consulting services firm said Tuesday that it has expanded its global partnership with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT and other large-scale AI models with a focus on Codex.
OpenAI's Codex is an advanced AI coding agent designed to help developers build, modify and ship software by using natural language instructions, colloquially referred to as "vibe coding."
As part of the agreement, CGI will join a group of partners with early access to OpenAI's latest capabilities.
The expansion builds on a global go-to-market alliance the two companies formed in January to support clients in deploying advanced AI capabilities at enterprise scale.
CGI said its own engineers, experts and consultants use the technology, and it is now working with OpenAI and clients across government, public safety and global commercial industry sectors.
News Corp, owner of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, has a content-licensing partnership with OpenAI.
