Birla (NSE:BIRLACORPN, BOM:500335) has clarified in a Thursday filing to Indian stock exchanges that the 9.44 million tons figure disclosed earlier for the Bikram coal mine in Madhya Pradesh, India, refers to extractable reserves and not annual production capacity.

Shares of the company fell nearly 1% in Friday's trade.

The company added that the peak rated capacity of the mine is 0.36 million tons per annum, according to the filing.
