英国石油巨头壳牌公司周一宣布，已达成协议以164亿美元收购加拿大能源公司ARC Resources。这笔交易将显著扩大壳牌在北美天然气市场的影响力。
壳牌首席执行官瓦埃尔·萨万在声明中表示：“ARC是一家高质量、低成本、碳强度处于行业前四分之一的优质生产商，在蒙特尼页岩盆地运营，这补充了我们现有的加拿大业务，并在未来数十年加强我们的资源基础。”
壳牌将以每股32.80加元的价格收购ARC Resources，支付方式为现金加股票。ARC Resources是蒙特尼页岩盆地的主要参与者，该盆地横跨不列颠哥伦比亚省和阿尔伯塔省，是北美最大的天然气资源区之一。
萨万还补充道：“我们正在获取位置独特的资产，并迎接带来深厚专业知识的同事，这与壳牌强大的盆地级表现相结合，将为股东提供一个极具吸引力的价值主张。”
此次收购正值全球对液化天然气的需求持续增长之际，各国寻求替代能源以加强能源安全。该交易还需获得监管批准和ARC Resources股东的同意。
