　　美联储主席鲍威尔在开场发言中解释了自己决定在下月主席任期结束后继续留任美联储理事会的原因。

　　鲍威尔表示，近期针对美联储前所未有的法律攻击正在重创该机构，并使其在不受政治影响情况下执行货币政策的能力面临风险。

　　他特别指出，自己决定留任“与民选官员的口头批评毫无任何关系”，而是直接源于当前持续的法律威胁。

　　鲍威尔承诺，他将在理事会中保持低调，但会继续任职一段时间，任期“待定”。
