新加坡总理黄循财5月1日说，受中东局势影响，未来数月全球供应链中断可能持续加剧，部分经济体面临衰退风险。黄循财在“五一”国际劳动节集会上发表演讲说：“从全球范围看，通货膨胀将上升，并从能源蔓延至食品及其他必需品。一些经济体可能陷入衰退，新加坡也将直接受到冲击。”他表示，即便霍尔木兹海峡恢复通航，也“不应指望危机在短期内结束”，局势“至少需要数月”才能趋于稳定。
