Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc．即将启动有序清算程序以出售资产，标志着这家近年来两度申请破产、且未能在最后时刻获得美国政府救助的低成本航空公司走向终局。
该公司周一提交动议，申请启动清算流程。此前，其已于上周六凌晨全面停止客运航班运营。公司还寻求修改破产贷款条款以获得出售资产所需的资金，这些资产包括飞机、备用发动机及零部件。
在与债权人达成削减数十亿美元债务和租赁义务的协议后，该航空公司原计划今年夏季走出破产，但由于中东冲突导致燃料成本飙升，其财务状况显著恶化。
特朗普政府曾提出一项救助方案，但在一批债权人甚至部分共和党人士反对下最终告吹。Spirit首席财务官弗雷德·克罗默在周一提交的声明中表示，上周晚些时候，公司被告知这笔潜在融资“已不再是可行选项”。
克罗默称，在现金迅速枯竭的情况下，公司于周五决定启动清算。
为推进清算，公司计划初期保留约150名员工，数月后将缩减至40人。Spirit表示，其在去年8月申请破产保护时员工总数超过1.12万人。
