Marathon Petroleum's 665,000 b/d Galveston Bay, Texas, refinery on Wednesday reported a power interruption at its sulfur recovery units, while its 384,500 b/d Los Angeles refinery is scheduled for a four-day planned maintenance starting Friday, they company said in two regulatory filings.

In a filing to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Marathon said its sulfur recovery units in both East and West plants of Galveston Bay went offline overnight Wednesday due to the power issue.

Meanwhile, the company also said in a South Coast AQMD filing Thursday morning that the refinery plants to flare and emit contaminants between Friday and May 12 related to a planned maintenance.
