WW International posted lower revenue in the first quarter, as behavioral subscription sales fell.

The weight-loss platform on Thursday posted a loss of $52.0 million, or $5.20 a share, in the quarter ended in late March, compared with a loss of $72.6 million, or 91 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue fell 10% to $168.3 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had forecast revenue of $158.5 million.

Known as Weight Watchers, the company has incorporated weight-loss drugs into its platform in recent years to supplement its points-based program for managing weight.

Clinical subscription revenue increased 32% year-over-year. Behavioral subscription revenue, which makes up a bigger portion of total sales, fell 18%, dragging overall subscription revenue down 9.6%.

Weight Watchers said it saw a shift in subscribers to its more premium tiers, while its core membership tier faced headwinds and drove the decline in sales.

Weight Watchers reaffirmed its full-year outlook, which includes a projection of $620 million to $635 million in annual sales. Analysts are forecasting $630.7 million.
