5月7日，CNBC名嘴吉姆·克莱默周三表示，云计算巨头们绝不能在人工智能的建设投入上吝啬开支。克莱默发表此番言论之前，有人将数据中心和与人工智能相关股票的上涨态势描述为一种“只要你建成，他们就会来”的模式——即企业积极投入基础设施建设，期望最终能吸引到客户。
然而，克莱默表示，将电影《梦幻成真》中的这句著名台词应用于人工智能热潮中，却忽略了一个关键点：客户已经存在，而那些急于跟上需求的云服务提供商也正在努力满足这些需求。“这次数据中心建设热潮的关键在于，这并非什么幻想故事，因为数据中心正在建设中，客户也确实纷至沓来，他们已经置身其中占据一席之地，而且每一个座位即将被填满的势头正在逐渐形成。”他以亚马逊为例，以此证明人工智能的全面布局已不再只是空想。
克拉默引用亚马逊CEO关于必须持续加大投资力度的话表示：“如果你们不建造这座体育场，客户就会另寻他处，而你们将会错失大量商机。”
