Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) is working with Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic to create artificial intelligence tools for the banking industry, beginning with a financial crime agent, Fidelity National said late Monday.

The initial software aims to cut anti-money laundering investigation times by automatically gathering evidence across core banking networks, the company said.

BMO and Amalgamated Bank will be among the first institutions to deploy the technology ahead of a broader rollout planned for H2, Fidelity National said.

E-commerce giant Amazon has invested billions into Anthropic.

Fidelity National shares were up 5.2% in premarket activity Tuesday, while Amazon rose 0.8%.
