Ultralife shares were down 13%, at $6.15, after the company swung to a first-quarter loss with lower revenue.

The communications and electronics company said it had a quarterly loss of $451,000, or 3 cents a share, compared with earnings of $1.9 million, or 11 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.

Revenue for the quarter was $47.4 million, compared with last year's $50.7 million.

The company said that during the first quarter, it experienced multiple challenges which negatively impacted its financial results. These included the loss of a few production days at its Newark, N.Y., facility due to a power outage, and a higher-than-planned number of production days lost at its Raynham, Mass., facility in connection with inventory-related confirmation and integration activities.

Ultralife said the lost production days flowed through to contribute significantly to its loss for the quarter. It also said that communications systems sales remained weak due to continued order delays.
