美联储理事约翰·威廉斯表示，目前的货币政策立场处于有利位置，能够平衡美联储双重使命面临的各种对立风险。他还称，中东冲突已加剧了这些风险。

　　威廉斯表示：“眼下，未来形势难以看清，我们双重使命两方面面临的风险都已增加。”

　　威廉斯周一在曼哈顿中城发表讲话时表示，由于关税和能源价格上涨，他预计未来几个季度通胀率将继续高于美联储2%的目标。

　　此外，他表示，伊朗战争已造成供应链中断，他将此比作全球经济在2021年走出疫情时所经历的其他供应中断情况。

　　威廉斯说，与此同时，劳动力市场表现出相互矛盾的迹象。他指出，政府的整体数据显示趋于稳定，而坊间指标则显示持续缓慢放缓。

　　他表示：“中东冲突所引发的供应中断和能源价格上涨，其影响的程度和持续时间，是决定全球经济前景的关键因素。我们根本无法知道事态将如何发展。”
