0852 GMT - STMicroelectronics could outperform the semiconductor industry in the near term thanks to growing opportunities to supply equipment for low Earth-orbit satellites, UBS analysts write in a research note. "We believe the opportunity will be very supportive in [the] near term, driving upside to 2026 estimates, on top line and margins, and supportive to sentiment given increasing investor interest in the space theme," the analysts say. The European chip maker expects to generate well above $3 billion in revenue between 2026 and 2028 for the supply of equipment to be used in space. STMicroelectronics shares in Paris trade 1.1% higher at 47.51 euros. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
