5月6日，据路透等媒体消息，5月4日提交的一份法庭文件显示，美国证券交易委员会已经与特斯拉CEO马斯克就收购推特期间涉嫌违规的诉讼达成和解。作为和解协议的一部分，当时买入推特股票所使用的马斯克名下可撤销信托，将向美国证交会支付150万美元(约合人民币1025万元)的民事罚款。
美国证券交易委员会于2025年初对马斯克发起诉讼，指控其在2022年收购社交媒体平台推特前，未按规定在10个自然日内披露增持股票情况。此举使得马斯克以低价持续买入推特股票，进而损害了其他投资者的利益。美国证交会认为，马斯克的操作相当于人为压低股票价格，使他在收购推特的过程中少支付至少1.5亿美元。最终，马斯克在2022年10月以440亿美元完成对推特的收购，并于次年将其更名为X。
