United Parks & Resorts reported lower first-quarter revenue as poor weather and a decline in international attendance hurt total visits.

The company posted a wider loss of $34.1 million, or 69 cents a share, compared with a loss of $16.1 million, or 29 cents a share, the year prior. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected a loss of 35 cents a share.

Revenue fell 3% to $278.3 million. Wall Street had expected $279.9 million. The company reported 3.2 million guests in the quarter, down 171,000 from the previous year, citing unfavorable weather in San Diego and Florida in January and February, and again in Florida and Texas during their peak spring break periods, and a decline in international attendance.

The poor weather decreased attendance by 140,000 guests, while the declines in international visitation had a negative impact of 80,000 guests.

In-park per capita spending increased 5.3% to $40.62.
