IHeartMedia logged higher revenue in its latest quarter, helped by growing demand for digital and podcast advertising.
The streaming media and radio company on Monday narrowed its first-quarter loss to $95.2 million, compared with a loss of $281.2 million in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue rose 9.6% to $884.2 million, compared with analyst estimates of $871.5 million.
Digital audio revenue climbed 18% to $327.1 million, driven by higher demand for digital and podcast advertising. Multiplatform revenue ticked up 4.3% to $493.5 million, primarily due to an increase in non-cash trade revenue resulting from strategic marketing initiatives, the company said.
For the current quarter, the company expects a low-single-digit increase in revenue. Analysts forecast revenue of $996.9 million, or up about 6.8% from the year-ago quarter.
The company also said it's now aiming for additional savings on top of its previously announced target of $100 million in 2026, with a new initiative that it expects to save another $50 million on an annualized basis beginning in the second half of the year.
