Andean Silver Discovers High-Grade Mineralized Veins Outside Current Resources at Peru Silver-Gold Project, Shares Jump 3%

Andean Silver (ASX:ASL) discovered further high-grade mineralized veins outside the current resources of its Cerro Bayo silver-gold project in Peru, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

Rock chip sampling results from the Taitao East Channel area encountered 1.2 meters at 1,681 grams per tonne grade of silver-equivalent, including 703 g/t grade of silver and 11.8 g/t grade of gold. Vein chip samples returned results of 5,643 g/t grade of silver equivalent, including 2,056 g/t grade of silver and 43.2 g/t grade of gold.

The firm is targeting a mineral resource estimate update in June.

Its shares jumped 3% in early trading on Thursday.
