Eni (E) has asked Morgan Stanley (MS) to help it raise funds from investors, including Apollo (APO), KKR (KKR), and Stonepeak, in a potential deal backed by its floating liquefied natural gas assets, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The discussions are still at an early stage and may not result in a deal, the report said. It added that, if completed, the transaction could raise at least 1 billion euros for Eni.

Apollo, Eni, KKR, Morgan Stanley, and Stonepeak declined to comment to Reuters. The companies didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comments.
