Blackstone (BX) dropped out of a consortium exploring a takeover of German media group Stroeer, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The investor group, which includes I Squared, was mulling a 2.5 billion euro ($2.9 billion) bid, the report said.

I Squared is reviewing its strategy, and there is no certainty that the consortium will proceed with an offer, the report said.

Blackstone did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
