0806 ET - Costco, set to report quarterly results later this month, may see earnings pressured by rising fuel prices, Oppenheimer analysts say in a research note. But a modest shortfall on EPS shouldn't scare off investors. "We still see a strong outperformance case," the analysts say. "We believe defensive characteristics of the model and Costco's superior value proposition on the omni-channel/fuel fronts should continue to drive outsized share gains." They note that Costco's shares have declined following four out of the company's past eight quarterly releases, and they recommend taking advantage of any weakness on the upcoming print. Oppenheimer reiterates its top pick ranking and raises Costco's price target to $1,160 from $1,100. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
