Roblox will repurchase up to $1 billion of its shares over the next year in the videogame company's first-ever stock buyback.
The plan is part of a $3 billion share repurchase authorization, which the board approved to offset share dilution from employee equity grants, the company said Tuesday.
"Today's authorization of Roblox's first-ever share repurchase program is a testament to our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead," Chief Financial Officer Naveen Chopra said.
"Investing in continued growth will always be our highest priority, but the strength of our balance sheet and free cash flow generation allows us to support industry leading innovation while simultaneously reducing dilution," Chopra added.
