快科技5月20日消息，据媒体报道，谷歌集团正与黑石集团联合组建一家全新的云计算公司，专门面向人工智能研发企业，对外租赁谷歌自研的张量处理器（TPU）算力资源。
数月来，谷歌一直在积极扩大TPU芯片的市场应用范围，以挑战英伟达在GPU领域的主导地位。
谷歌已与一家大型投资机构达成协议，拟合资成立企业，对外出租TPU算力。相关知情交易人士证实，该合作方正是黑石集团，双方内部将该项目命名为“编织计划”。
目前，多家新兴云服务商并不愿接入谷歌TPU算力租赁服务，主要原因是这些厂商大多与英伟达保持着深度合作关系。
据悉，黑石将为该项目投入50亿美元的股权资金。谷歌仅持有合资公司的少数股份，同时负责向项目供应TPU硬件设备。
谷歌云资深高管本杰明·特雷纳·斯洛丝将出任这家新企业的首席执行官。公司计划在2027年前完成500兆瓦规模的TPU算力投产上线。
